Join our mailing list

Try New Things CIC is a dynamic, community-focused organisation based in Sunderland, dedicated to creating innovative, engaging, and experimental cultural projects. Our mission is to bring fresh, unexpected experiences to local communities by developing pop-up initiatives that explore creativity, technology, and heritage in exciting and meaningful ways.

What's On

Our Mission

Our mission is to bring people together to try new things, build confidence and make meaningful connections through accessible creative activities, digital learning and gentle movement. We create welcoming experiences where curiosity is encouraged and everyone can participate.

Our Visions

We envision inclusive and connected communities where everyone, regardless of age, background or experience, feels confident to participate, learn and try something new.

We want to create a future where creativity brings people together, technology does not leave anyone behind, and people have welcoming spaces to build skills, friendships and a stronger sense of belonging. Through shared experiences and intergenerational learning, we aim to help people recognise their potential and remain curious throughout their lives.

Hi, my name is Rory. I am an artist, curator and workshop facilitator based in the North East, with a background in fine art and a particular interest in painting, portraiture and drawing. Alongside developing my own artistic practice, I have delivered exhibitions, workshops and community arts projects across the region. I am also the co-founder of Art Matters Now, supporting emerging artists and creating opportunities for people to engage with contemporary art. My personal mission is to make art accessible, encourage creativity and bring people together through shared artistic experiences.
